Check In Times : From 5.00pm (1700) Sunday to Friday, 2.00pm (1400) Saturday.
We close the doors at 11.00pm. Please notify us if you are going to check in after 10:30pm. We do not have a night porter but with 24 hour’s notice we can usually make arrangements for a late check in. On checking in you will receive an electronic key that allows access to the building at all times. Please note that we are closed between 3.00pm and 5.00pm every day except Saturday.

Room Cancellation and Deposit policy :
- Room bookings made on line are charged in full at the time of booking. If you give us 14 days or more notice of cancellation, in writing (fax, email, letter), from midday of the day of arrival we will refund 50% of the booking fee. Less notice than this and no refund will be given.
- For individual room bookings made direct with the Thatched Cottage we take £20 per room per night at the time of booking as a deposit. This is non refundable in any circumstances. A booking may only be regarded as confirmed when the hotel is in receipt of this deposit and has confirmed the booking in writing.
- Booking for 2 to 4 rooms: A deposit of 30% of the total room bill is required to secure the booking. This is non refundable. If you give us 5 days or more notice of cancellation, in writing (fax, email, letter), from midday of the day of arrival there will be no further charge. Less notice than this will incur the full room charge for the booked period.
- Bookings for 5 or more rooms: A deposit of 50% of the total room bill is required to secure the booking. This is non refundable. If you give us 14 days or more notice of cancellation, in writing (fax, email, letter), from midday of the day of arrival there will be no further charge. Less notice than this will incur the full room charge for the booked period.
- At certain peak times extended periods of cancellation will apply. e.g. The Glastonbury Festival, four weeks: the Royal Bath and West Show, two weeks and the Smithfield Christmas Show, two weeks.
- It is important to remember that in all cases of cancellation the hotel will make every reasonable effort to mitigate its loss by reselling the available capacity. Where this is possible then only a nominal charge to cover the appropriate additional administrative costs will be charged. If you are booked on a rate inclusive of dinner, the cancellation charge will only relate to the room rate.
- The Thatched Cottage is not responsible for details of confirmations or cancellations sent out by various booking agencies through which reservations have been made and will not be bound by them.

Payment methods:
- All rooms and functions are to be settled on departure unless otherwise agreed in writing beforehand. We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards.
- We do not accept cheques, American Express and Diners Card.
- If alternative payment methods are agreed then the statutory rights for late payment will apply.
- If payment in full is not received within fourteen days of the last day of the booking then The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 allows us to add interest at 8% above the prevailing Bank of England base rate for each day the debt is outstanding, which we will do.
Facilities:
All our rooms are on the first floor, are en suite and non smoking. We do not have room service nor do we have a lift but staff will be happy to help you with your luggage. Hair dryers and irons are available on request. Breakfast is from 7.30am to 10.00 weekdays and 8.00am to 10.30 weekends and bank holidays.
Smoking is not permitted on the premises. We have an outdoor smoking area. Please be aware that if a guest smokes in the room(s) there will be an automatic £100 surcharge per room in addition to the statutory fine of £200.
